The Australian Lunar Series II Monkey 2016 Silver Coin celebrates the 9th animal in the Chinese zodiac. Birth dates under this sign include years 1920, 1932, 1944, 1956, 1968, 1980, 1992, 2004 and 2016.
Those who are born in the Chinese Lunar monkey are said to be optimistic, adventurous and intelligent. Issued by the Perth Mint, the coins are proof quality 999.0% pure Silver. The design of each coin depicts a monkey sitting on a branch of a peach tree which symbolises longevity and immortality. Moreover, the design includes the inscription “Year of the Monkey” as well as the traditional “P” mintmark of The Perth Mint. Clients have a number of options when taking delivery of the metal.
