The UK Gold one-tenth ounce Britannia was first issued in 1987 by the UK Royal Mint. It was produced in 22 carat gold with a face value of £10 from 1987 until 2012, as the UK gold coins had always traditionally been struck in 22 carat gold. In 2013 it was decided to break from tradition and change the fineness to 24 carat which also caused the weight of the coin to decrease from 3.39g to 3.1g. The observe designer is Ian Rank-Broadley FRBS and reverse designer is Philip Nathan.
The Gold Britannias are one of the most popular gold coins for UK based private investors, as they are Capital Gains Tax Free (CGT Exempt). This gold coin would be a great addition to any bullion collection and is delivered in vacuum packed plastic directly from the manufacturer.
